Position Overview:
The Assistant Professor position is a key faculty role in the Indian higher education system, operating under the norms set by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Responsibilities:

  • Contributing to the development and review of academic programs, curricula, and assessment methods.
  • Assisting in administrative tasks related to academic programs, such as admissions, student advisement, and curriculum design.

  • Engaging in continuous professional development to enhance teaching and research skills.

  • Staying updated with emerging trends, theories, and practices in the discipline through self-study and professional development activities.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in the relevant field from a recognized university.
  • A minimum of 55% marks at the master’s level (or equivalent grade) in the relevant discipline.
  • Qualify for the National Eligibility Test (NET) or an accredited equivalent such as the State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) or the UGC-CSIR JRF examination.
  • Demonstrated potential for research, as evidenced by publications and/or ongoing research projects.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students and colleagues effectively.
  • Proficiency in using technology for instructional purposes and research activities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the UGC regulations and norms related to higher education.
